2 Florida Law Enforcement Officers Killed in Tallahassee Head-On Collision
Tallahassee, FL (September 11, 2017) – A couple of law enforcement officers were involved in a two-car collision Sunday morning and were killed in the process.
The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the report of the collision on State Road 66 at Old Crewsville Road, Hardee County around 6:46 a.m. September 10.
The report showed that Deputy Julie Ann Bridges, a 13-year veteran of Hardee County Sheriff, was on her way home to pick up some items and return to a local hurricane shelter. She was driving a marked patrol car eastbound on Old Crewsville Road when she crashed head-on into the westbound vehicle of Sgt. Joseph Ossman on SR 166.
Ossman was on his way to work at the Hardee County Correctional Institute.
Both were declared dead at the scene.
As of this writing, it is unclear whether the collision was storm-related.
