Woman Killed in Crash in Collier County ID’d as Robin Esterkes
Collier County, Florida (January 17, 2018) – According to Florida Highway Patrol, a woman who was Killed in a crash in Collier County has been identified as Robin Sue Esterkes.
The crash took place on Sunday, January 7, at Lely Resort Boulevard and Lely Island Boulevard.
According to FHP, the 62-year-old Naples woman, Robin Sue Esterkes was driving a 2018 BMW X1 south on Lely Resort Boulevard when she tried to make a left turn and entered in the path of 18-year-old, David Camilo Manrique who was driving a 2017 Toyota Corolla northbound on Lely Resort.
The front of the Corolla hit the right side of the BMW, causing it to spin. Manrique was uninjured in the crash.
Esterkes was injured and transported to Lee Memorial Hospital. She was pronounced dead on Friday 12.
Alcohol was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
