Two Vehicles Collide on Parkdale Boulevard in Lehigh Acres Sending Eight to Hospitals
Lehigh Acres, Florida (December 18, 2017) – Eight people sustained injuries on Sunday afternoon in a two-car crash at an intersection on Parkdale Boulevard in Lehigh Acres, according to a report.
Two SUVs were involved in the collision that occurred shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday, December 17, at the intersection of Parkdale Boulevard and South Homestead Road.
Robert Santana, 24, of Lehigh Acres, was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee westbound on Parkdale Boulevard when he disregarded a stop sign at the intersection of South Homestead Road and was struck on the left side by a 2015 Chevy Equinox, driven northbound on South Homestead Road by Andres Ledezma-Gonzalez, 45, of Immokalee.
The impact of the crash caused Santana’s vehicle to roll onto its side.
Both Santana and his passenger sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Ledezma-Gonzalez and four passengers in the Equinox also sustained minor injuries. A 10-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, also traveling in the Equinox, were transported by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
It’s unclear whether charges were filed due to the crash.
