Two Sustain Serious Injuries in Crash at Gunnery Road and Lee Boulevard
Lehigh Acres, Florida (January 10, 2017) – Two people were seriously injured in a crash in Lehigh Acres Tuesday morning, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place around 6:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, in Lee County at Gunnery Road and Lee Boulevard.
According to FHP, a van driver failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of a bus that was stopped at a traffic light.
As per the report, no children were on the bus. Both drivers were transported to area hospitals suffering serious injuries.
The North Fort Myers Van driver, Robert Call, 30, was charged with careless driving.
The crash led to the closure of east lanes of Lee Boulevard. All lanes reopened later at about 7:45 a.m.
The crash remains under investigation.
