Interstate 10 Two-Vehicle Collision Kills 1
Gadsden County, FL (September 20, 2017) – A fatal crash on the eastbound lane of Interstate 10 was reported by the Florida Highway Patrol on September 18, Monday afternoon.
According to the FHP, the incident involved a semi tractor-trailer and another vehicle that crashed in Gadsden County.
The report showed that an eastbound semi tractor-trailer began to drift to the inside lane of the road, near mile marker 167 when the accident occurred. It struck a second vehicle, causing both vehicles to travel to the south shoulder and ditch.
The second vehicle struck a tree while the semi kept moving into the wood line. It struck several trees before finally stopping when it hit a large tree.
The driver of the semi, Richard Williams, 44, was declared dead at the scene by Gadsden County Paramedic personnel.
The driver of the second vehicle sustained minor injuries. He was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital for treatment.
