Reginald Pittman identified as Person Killed in St. Petersburg Pedestrian Crash on 34th Street North
St. Petersburg, Florida (February 8, 2018) – Reginald William Pittman has been identified as the pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle on Wednesday night in St. Petersburg, according to St. Petersburg Police Department.
The crash happened shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, on 34th Street N near 35th Avenue.
Police said 48-year-old Pittman was attempting to cross the southbound lanes of 34th Street when he walked into the way of a 2009 Honda Accord that was being driven by 21-year-old Aaron Williams.
According to police, Williams had no time to drift away or stop to avoid crashing into Pittman.
The impact of the crash threw Pittman onto the car, before pushing him onto the roadway.
Police said Pittman sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene of the crash.
34th Street was closed for several hours as police examined and cleared the scene.
No charges are expected.
