Eustis, FL – A pedestrian-vehicle accident occurring at Eustis High School Monday morning at around 6:42 a.m. leaves a 15-year old student with severe head injuries.
The collision took place on Grand Island Shores Road at Yardley Street in Lake County while the student was waiting for the school bus.
The boy was airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando as a trauma alert patient and is in critical condition, stated Lake County EMS.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation but officials believe that the boy may not have been paying attention while crossing the road.
There are currently no charges pending.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the site of the crash.
