Car Strikes and Kills Pedestrian on McGregor Boulevard
South Fort Myers, FL (September 11, 2017) – A pedestrian was killed after a car crashed into him on McGregor Boulevard early Thursday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 1:39 a.m. September 7 on the highway. The pedestrian walked eastbound across the road when he was struck by 59-year-old James A. Lanum, of Cape Coral.
Lanum said he did not see the pedestrian on the road.
The unnamed pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.
State troopers are still investigating the circumstances leading to the crash. Charges are pending after a full investigation is completed.
