Pedestrian Critically Injured in Gulf Beach Highway Crash in Pensacola
Pensacola, Florida (December 11, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck and critically injured by a vehicle in Pensacola, Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash took place on SR 292 in Gulf Beach Highway involving a pedestrian and a 2002 PT Cruiser.
According to FHP, the pedestrian, who was not identified, and a witness were walking west on State Route 292 on the north shoulder of the roadway.
Kathy Erwin, 59, was driving a 2002 PT Cruiser west on SR-292 when the pedestrian began walking south on SR 292 and was hit by the front of Erwin’s vehicle on the left. The witness did not move from the north shoulder of the roadway, the police report said.
The pedestrian was taken to Baptist Hospital in critical condition. Erwin sustained minor injuries and was treated at Sacred Heart Hospital.
