Haines City Woman Pearl Veilleux Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. 17/92
Haines City, Florida (January 24, 2018) – An 85-year-old woman was killed in an accident whereby her vehicle collided with another on Monday afternoon in Haines City, according to police.
Pearl Dianna Veilleux of Haines City died in the crash that occurred before 2:20 p.m. Monday, January 22, at 617 U.S. 17/92 in front of the Publix Plaza.
According to a Haines City Police Department report, 43-year-old Elicenia De La Cruz Buckman of Cutler Bay, was driving a gray 2016 Hyundai Veloster eastbound on U.S. 17/92 when she hit a 2008 Chrysler 300 driven by Veilleux.
Police said Veilleux was trying to turn left into the Publix Plaza parking lot when she was hit.
Veilleux was transported to Heart of Florida Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.
Buckman was treated for leg pain at Heart of Florida.
Police are conducting an investigation into the crash.
