A fatal wrong-way crash which took place at approximately 2:15 A.M. on Monday, leaves one person dead and one in critical condition.
According to Florida Highway Patrol spokesperson Sgt. Michael Quade, the driver of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt was traveling northbound of Palm Coast Parkway in the inside southbound lane when it hit a Hyundai Tucson that was driving in the correct direction.
Sgt. Quade states that the two vehicles collided head-on and the driver of the Cobalt was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver who was in the Tucson was rushed to Halifax Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
The identities of both drivers have not been released pending on the notification of next of kin.
Interstate 95 was shut down for investigation following the accident.
