3 Injured in Ocala Traffic Crash at the Intersection of US 441 and US 27

Ocala, Florida (November 18, 2017) – The Ocala Police Department reported that three people suffered injuries in a two-car collision Friday afternoon in Ocala.
The incident happened at around 2:14 p.m. Friday, November 17 at the intersection of US 441 and US 27.
As per the report log, a U-Haul truck was headed south on US 441 while a BMW was headed north on the same road. The car entered into the path of the truck as it turned left onto US 27 and the two vehicles collided. They came to rest near an auto dealer business on the southwest corner.
Firefighters had to cut the driver and passenger doors, and the roof of the car to extricate the women. The car rested on its side and was wedged against a palm tree.
The two women were shuttled to Ocala Regional Medical Center with injuries. One of them was said to have sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash.
Meanwhile, the U-Haul driver sustained minor wounds in the crash and was transported to the same hospital.
An investigation to determine the cause of the incident is underway.
