Two-Vehicle Collision on U.S. 98 N and N.W. Fourth St. Kills Neka Sedatol and Seriously Injures Miguel Garcia
Okeechobee, FL (October 16, 2017) – A two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon has killed one woman and sent another man to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at the intersection of U.S. 98 N. and N.W. Fourth St. around 1:05 p.m. October 14.
The report showed that 40-year-old Neka Sedatol, of Okeechobee, stopped her 2017 Chevrolet Trax SUV a stop sign on N.W. Fourth St. At the time, a southbound 2017 Mack tractor-trailer, driven by 41-year-old Joey Farris, of Okeechobee, approached the intersection.
When the SUV turned, it was directly on the path of the trailer, which resulted in it hitting the right front of the truck with its left side.
The collision killed Sedatol and seriously injured her passenger, 15-year-old Miguel Garcia, of Okeechobee. He was transported to Raulerson Hospital for treatment.
Farris did not sustain any injuries.
The FHP is investigating the collision.
