Teenage Bicyclist Injured on Amherst Avenue Car Collision
Hernando County, FL (September 18, 2017) – A teenage bicyclist was transported to a hospital after he was involved in a collision with a car Thursday evening.
The report from the Florida Highway Patrol showed that the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. September 14 on Amherst Avenue.
The FHP reported that 15-year-old Nefe Drosses, of Spring Hill, was riding his bicycle toward Linden Drive when he improperly entered the intersection. At that moment, he was struck by a 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue driven by 68-year-old Dara Jones.
The FHP decided not to file charges on Drosses, who was at fault in the incident, because of his age.
Drosses was brought to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson with non-incapacitating injuries.
