Manatee Motorcycle-Pickup Truck Collision Critically Injures 75-Year-Old Motorcyclist
Manatee, FL (September 13, 2017) – A man has been rushed to the hospital with critical injuries after his vehicle crashed into a pickup truck Tuesday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. September 12 at the intersection of State Road 62 and U.S. 301.
The report showed that a 75-year-old Wimauma man rode his 2005 Harley Davidson FLHTK Ultra Limited motorcycle northbound on the left lane on 301. As he approached the intersection, a 2007 Ford F-150 turned left and into the motorcycle’s path. The truck hit the right side of the motorcycle.
As a result of the impact, the motorcycle flipped onto its side and slid across the road into the southbound left turn lane. Its driver was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.
He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The motorcyclist was transported to Blake Medical Center for medical attention.
The driver of the pickup truck, a 17-year-old male teenager, of Parrish, was not injured in the crash.
Possible charges are pending an investigation.
