Lady Lake, FL – A motorcyclist crashed into a street sign Friday afternoon and was airlifted to the hospital.
According to the Lady Lake police, the man was riding on U.S Highway 27 near Hermosa Street at around 3:30 p.m. when he lost control and crashed into an electronic signage board used for announcements that was in the median while he was traveling at a high-speed, stated a witness. The motorcyclist was flown to Ocala Regional Medical Center and has yet to be identified.
The crash is still under investigation, according to Sargeant Adam Cronk.
The police found the motorcyclist wearing a helmet.
The Northbound traffic was still jammed at 5:30 p.m.
The impact of the crash left his Blue Suzuki stuck under the board close to the southbound traffic.
