Punta Gorda Teenager Injured in Port Charlotte Two-Vehicle Crash on I-75
Port Charlotte, Florida (November 30, 2017) – A Punta Gorda teenager was on Wednesday morning injured in a semi-truck collision with an SUV on Interstate 75, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Michelle O’Rawe, 17, was injured in the accident that happened shortly before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, November 29, on the Peace River Bridge.
According to Troopers, O’Rawe was traveling southbound on I-75 and attempted to change lanes between two big trucks. O’Rawe’s vehicle started to fishtail then crashed into a concrete wall and rolled.
A truck carrying seven vehicles was driving behind and crashed into the overturned vehicle.
O’Rawe sustained minor injuries and was taken to Bayfront Punta Gorda Hospital.
No other injuries were reported from the crash.
O’Rawe was cited for careless driving.
The southbound lanes of I-75 were closed as the scene was cleared.
