Margarita Contreras Killed in Car Crash on U.S Highway 441 in Kissimmee
Kissimmee, Florida (November 5, 2017) – A 58-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident that took place early Sunday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol reported.
The woman has been identified as Margarita Contreras of Boca Raton.
The accident occurred at 1:15 a.m. Sunday, November 5 on U.S Highway 441.
Reportedly, Contreras was involved in an initial collision south of Osceola Parkway. The vehicles involved in the accident were moved to a parking lot. Contreras walked to the roadway looking for a wallet she thought she had dropped. She was then struck by a vehicle described as a tan or gold colored.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene without giving help.
Contreras was taken to Osceola Regional Medical Center for treatment. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The hit-and-run driver is being sought by police. The crash remains under an active investigation.
