Driver Killed in Marion County Car Crash with Two Trucks on Interstate 75
Marion County, Florida (February 8, 2018) – A grisly collision involving a car and two trucks left one person dead early Thursday morning in Marion County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at around 12:27 a.m. on Interstate 75 near County Road 326.
Troopers said the car was traveling southbound on Interstate 75 when it collided with a UPS truck that was also heading south.
The impact caused the car driver to lose control and drifted off the roadway, crashing into a semi-truck parked at the right side.
The car was pinned under the semi-truck in the accident.
The driver of the car died at the scene.
The drivers of the UPS and semi trucks were not hurt.
FHP has not released the name of the deceased victim pending notification of the next of kin.
The crash remains under investigation.
