Man Killed in Murray Hill Train-Pedestrian Crash
Jacksonville, Florida (November 13, 2017) – A man walking with a dog was fatally struck by a train on Sunday evening in Murray Hill, according to Jacksonville County Sheriff’s report
The crash occurred at about 6 p.m. near Roosevelt Boulevard and Edgewood Avenue intersection on Sunday, November 12.
The man was walking his dog on Edgewood Avenue when the dog heard an oncoming Amtrak train and started running towards it. The man went after the dog and they were both struck by the train killing them on the spot.
The train was headed to Lorton in Virginia from Sanford and had 281 passengers on board. No other injuries were reported from the crash.
Details on the identity of the victim were not available.
