Wrong-Way Vehicle on Southeast 183rd Avenue Road Kills Loretta Fillow
Ocklawaha, FL (October 23, 2017) – A wrong-way collision Sunday evening has killed one woman and seriously injured the other driver.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported the collision to have occurred on Southeast 183rd Avenue Road around 9 p.m. October 22.
For reasons unknown, 42-year-old Michael Haslup of Citra, drove his 2000 Buick Park Avenue north on the southbound lane of the road. This caused him to crash into a 1997 Toyota Rav4 driven by Loretta Fillow, of Ocklawaha.
The two drivers were transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center, where Fillow was declared dead. Haslup is being treated for serious injuries sustained from the incident.
The FHP says charges are pending.
