Motorcyclist Leslie Burden Killed and Passenger Injured in Cape Coral Crash on Hancock Bridge Parkway East
Cape Coral, Florida (February 12, 2018) – A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger critically injured following a DUI crash in Cape Coral Friday night, according to Cape Coral Police report.
The accident took place on Friday, February 9, in the 100 block of Hancock Bridge Parkway East in Cape Coral.
According to the Cape Coral Police, a 3-wheeled motorcycle driven eastbound by 71-year-old Leslie Burden of Cape Coral made a left-hand turn into the path of a westbound SUV headed driven by 33-year-old Jacqueline Castillo of Cape Coral. The SUV reportedly crashed into the right side of the motorcycle.
The impact of the collision threw two people from the bike, and they were the only occupants of the motorcycle.
Burden was trauma alerted to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while his passenger Charlotte Disilvestro, 50, of Cape Coral was also trauma alerted to the hospital with serious injuries, police said.
Castillo did not sustain injuries in the collision but showed signs of impairment at the incident, as per the report.
Police said Castillo was arrested and charged with DUI.
