Kyla Watts and Two Others Seriously Two-Vehicle Crash on 122nd Street
Suwannee County, Florida (December 29, 2017) – Three people sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Suwannee County on Sunday afternoon.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the wreck took place at around 1:20 p.m. Sunday, December 24 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 129 and 122nd Street.
The driver of a Chevy Colorado was heading south on U.S. 129, failed to yield to a right-of-way and struck the front left side of a Kia Sorento that was also traveling southbound and was attempting to make a left turn onto 122nd Street.
Melinda Lewis, 47, of Lakes City was the driver of the Kia. She and her passenger, Karen Stewart, 27, of Branford, were both transported to Shands UF Hospital with serious injuries.
A passenger in the Chevy, Kyla Watts, 26, of Live Oak, was also transported to Shands UF with serious injuries.
Sustaining minor injuries were the driver of the Chevy and three other passengers, who included two children.
Charges are awaiting an ongoing investigation.
