Sarasota Woman Kendy Morgan Seriously Injured in I-75 Two-Car Crash in Sarasota County
Sarasota County, Florida (December 17, 2017) – A two-car collision on Interstate 75 left a Sarasota woman nursing serious injuries on Sunday morning, according to a report by the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident took place in the southbound lanes of Interstate 75, just south of Laurel Road
According to troopers, a Ford Explorer driven by 30-year-old Kendy Morgan of Sarasota was traveling southbound on the highway when it was rear-ended by a Kia Optima, driven behind by 47-year-old Stacey Perrone of Cape Coral.
The collision pushed the Ford onto the center median and caused it to overturn.
Morgan was airlifted to Sarasota Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Perrone and three passengers in her vehicle, 16-year-old Kloe Perrone, 15-year-old Jared Laez and 15-year-old Paige Perrone, were unhurt in the crash.
Stacey Perrone was cited for careless driving, FHP said.
