Juanita Paulino Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Sheldon Road in Hillsborough County
Hillsborough County, Florida (February 3, 2018) – Two people were killed in a fatal accident where their vehicle crashed into the back of a tractor-trailer on Friday morning in Hillsborough County.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the collision took place on Sheldon Road near Mohr Road at around 10:20 a.m. Friday, February 2.
Deputies said Tywaun Jamel Blake Burgess, 30, of Orlando was sitting in a Freightliner tractor-trailer facing north on Sheldon Road when it was struck from the back by a 2012 Kia Rio, driven by Samuel T. Thomas, 38, of Lakeland.
Thomas sustained major injuries and was transported to St. Joseph’s Main Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A passenger in his car, Juanita Paulino, 70, of Tampa, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Christino Paulino was also a passenger in the car and was hospitalized at St. Joseph’s Main with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
Burgess was not injured.
Deputies said no charges have been filed and the investigation is ongoing.
