Ocala Man Joseph Williams Identified as Person Killed in Marion County Fatal Collision on I-75

Marion County, Florida (February 9, 2018) – The 94-year-old man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning on I-75 in Marion County has been identified as Joseph R. Williams of Ocala, according to a news release from Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident took place at around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
According to a preliminary report, Williams was driving a 2006 Toyota Camry southbound when his vehicle collided with a semi driven by 43-year-old Gerald Martinez Atwater of Jacksonville, at Mile Marker 358. Williams Camry then collided with a second semi parked on the shoulder of the road.
Williams died as a result of the crash, as per the report.
Atwater and the driver of the parked semi, Ciarra R. Coleman, 31, of Hazelwood, Mo, were not injured in the crash, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
