Powerboat Racer Joseph Sgro Killed and Two Others Injured in Florida Keys Boat Crash

Florida Keys, Florida (November 11, 2017)– A powerboat racer was killed and two others were injured after a 2017 Outerlimits Boat they were cruising in rolled over in Florida Keys on Thursday.
The boat crash occurred in the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, November 9.
According to a report from the authorities, Joseph Sgro, a 63-year-old Bellmore boat racer, was killed and two of his friends, Joseph Nestola, 56, and Joseph Latona, 60, both from Merrick were hospitalized at Miami Hospital trauma center.
Sgro was president of Outerlimits Powerboats Inc, a powerboats manufacture company in Rhode Island.
There were five people aboard the powerboat when it flipped and became partially submerged.
Only Nestola remained hospitalized as of Friday as he suffered a bruised rib, broken shoulder blade and water in the lungs.
