Raleigh – The 55-year old man was killed after his bike was struck by an N.C police officer on in a marked SUV on Trinity Road near Corporate Center Drive March 20th, Monday morning.
Police reports state that a little before 7 a.m., the rider of the bicycle, John Leonard White Jr., was headed southbound when he ran a red light on Corporate Center Drive while he attempted to cross Trinity. The N.C State University police officer, Ryan Christopher Drakeford, had the green light while heading eastbound on Trinity when he struck White who was going at about 23 mph.
Drakeford was not cited and was not injured. His SUV was a marked N.C State University police car.
