John Garret Hospitalized after Traffic Crash on County Road 484 in Ocala
Ocala, Florida (January 30, 2018) – A 21-year-old man sustained serious injuries when two vehicles crashed in Ocala, a local news source reported.
The man has been identified as John Garret, of Ocala.
According to the article, 63-year-old Timothy Petersen, of Swart Creek, Michigan was driving a 2016 Itascz Sunstar RV on a private drive when he came to a stop sign at County Road 484. Petersen entered the intersection without stopping.
His vehicle collided with a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora driven by Garret.
Garret’s vehicle was wedged underneath the recreational vehicle that was being driven by Petersen.
MCFR Marion Oaks Fire Station and MCFR Special Operations Technical Rescue Team responded to the scene.
Garret was extricated from his car by the responders and transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
Petersen and his passenger, his wife, Jenny Petersen, 58, were not injured in the crash.
Petersen was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
