Tampa Man John Cosme-Rivera Killed in Car-Motorcycle Accident on U.S. 301 in Brandon
Brandon, Florida (February 10, 2018) — A Tampa motorcyclist was fatally injured after colliding with a vehicle Friday evening in Brandon, according to a news report from Florida Highway Patrol.
The deadly accident took place at around 6:45 p.m. Friday, February 9, on U.S. 301 south of Adamo Drive.
The FHP reported that 25-year-old John Anthony Cosme-Rivera was riding his 2008 Suzuki south on U.S. 301 south of Adamo Drive when a 2017 Ford Escape driven north by Winifred Stevens, 57, of Gibsonton , made a left turn into the driveway of a business, cutting off Cosme-Rivera.
Cosme-Rivera was transported to Tampa General Hospital where he was later declared deceased while Stevens did not sustain injuries in the wreck, troopers said.
An investigation into the deadly collision is ongoing.
