Marianna, FL – A motorcycle crash taking place in Jackson County claims the life of one person late Monday night at around 9 p.m.
The crash took place on East Highway 90, near Wynn Street in Marianna, FL, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The victim, 58-year old Jessie Blanchette was killed after the driver of a vehicle went into the direct path of Blanchette.
The driver of the car has not been identified and suffered minor injuries.
Blanchette received life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
Motorcycle use has increased throughout the years and so has the amount of fatalities and injuries that derive from motorcycle accidents. Sadly, many vehicle drivers lack the respect and attention for motorcyclists and do not pay attention to when a motorcycle rider is around. Because a motorcycle lacks the protection that a vehicle does, a motorcycle accident is often fatal. In this case, Jesse Blanchette suffered at the hands of a negligent driver who drove directly into his path. The motorcycle accident attorneys at Percy Martinez Law Firm have represented numerous victims of motorcycle accidents and the families of those who died a wrongful death.
Vehicle drivers need to abide by the traffic laws and give the same respect to the motorcyclist that they would any other driver. The lack of visibility that a motorcycle has can attribute to accidents where the driver of a vehicle simply did not see the motorcycle. In those cases, although it was unintentional, the driver of the vehicle would still be found legally responsible for the injury to death that the victim endured. A driver’s negligence, distractions, recklessness, and even intentional acts could be the reason a motorcycle rider loses their life.
The family and loved ones of Blanchette will never be able to spend another day by his side, but they can seek legal action against the driver. Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of Blanchette. We are here if you have any concerns or questions, along with our full support.
