Semi-Truck Strikes and Kills Pedestrian on U.S. 19
Clearwater, FL (September 21, 2017) – A pedestrian walking south on U.S. 19 was struck and killed by a semi-truck early Wednesday morning.
The Clearwater police report showed that the incident occurred near Sunset Point Road around 1 a.m. on September 20 and the victim was identified as 35-year-old Jessica Peeples, of Dunedin.
The report said that Peeples walked into the southbound lanes of traffic on the road where she was struck by a semi-truck that tried to avoid the collision. The driver of the vehicle was a 50-year-old man.
The lanes on U.S. 19 were closed for an investigation for several hours.
