Car Strikes and Kills Pedestrian on Universal Boulevard
Orange County, FL (October 2, 2017) – A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car late Sunday evening as she attempted to cross the road.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported a fatal accident that occurred shortly before 11:30 p.m. on October 1 on Universal Boulevard.
The report showed that Yashpaul Boodram drove his 2012 Lexus westbound on Universal Boulevard during the time of the incident. The pedestrian, 31-year-old Jennifer Garringer, of Walled Lake, Michigan, attempted to cross the road but was struck by the Lexus. The impact caused Garringer to roll onto the hood of the vehicle.
The passenger on board the Lexus also struck the windshield of the car.
The FHP report showed that the driver attempted to flee the scene but was followed by a witness who brought him back to his vehicle. He has been arrested for leaving the scene of a crash.
Garringer was transported to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The crash is being investigated with pending charges.
