Driver Runs a Red Light, One Dead and One Critically Injured
Port Charlotte, FL – A collision occurring on the intersection of State Road 776 and U.S 41 Monday morning resulted in one death and one critically wounded, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The driver of an unidentified vehicle ran a red light before smashing into a pickup truck. The collision landed Jeffery Paul Elmore, 60, in critical condition. He was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital.
The identity of the other driver who was killed has not been identified yet.
Both drivers were found to have been wearing seat belts.
Investigations are currently taking place.
