9-Year-Old Issac Santillan Killed in Fort Pierce Crash
Fort Pierce, Florida (December 26, 2016) – According to a police report, a child was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Fort Pierce, Monday Morning.
The crash happened at around 4:40 a.m. Monday, December 25, at the intersection of Cortez and Sunrise Boulevards.
As per the report, a 2005 Toyota Corolla was headed eastbound on Cortez, driven by Julio Ruiz when it struck an unoccupied Ford pickup truck.
Ruiz was transported to the hospital in a stable condition while Issac Santillan who was celebrating his 9th birthday on Christmas day was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Santillan’s sister, 5, was flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center after sustaining critical injuries while a female passenger who had to be extracted from the vehicle was taken to a hospital in critical condition.
The crash remains under investigation.
