INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash occurring on Friday near the County Fairgrounds left one man with extremely grave injuries who was flown to the Trauma Center, stated an Indian River County Sheriff’s Office official.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Lt. Eric Flowers reported that the crash happened at 58th Avenue and 77th Street at around 2 p.m that involved a blue pickup truck and a white SUV. The pickup truck drove through a blinking red light at the intersection east of 77th Street where he crashed into the SUV that contained three children and a woman.
Flowers said that the man was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne with life-threatening injuries as he was ejected from his pickup truck.
The conditions of everyone involved remain unknown. An update will be provided as more information is revealed.
