Crestview Man Harris McDonnel in Critical Condition after Slamming into Construction Truck on I-10
Crestview, Florida (November 17, 2017) – A 26-year-old man was critically injured on Thursday morning when his vehicle crashed into an impact attenuator truck on Interstate 10 in Crestview.
Harris McDonnel, 26, was injured in the two-vehicle crash that occurred at about 3:03 a.m. Thursday, November 16 at mile marker 7, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
McDonnel was traveling in a 2016 GMC Sierra pickup eastbound on I-10 when he drove in the right through lane which was closed for construction at mile marker 7.
A 2009 Freightliner M21 attenuator was eastbound on the left lane when it attempted to merge into the closed lane and was struck from behind by McDonnel’s pickup, according to FHP.
McDonnel suffered serious injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, where he is said to be in critical condition.
