Three Killed and Driver Seriously Injured in Indian River County Collision on Interstate 95
Indian River County, Florida (January 28, 2018) – Three people died, and another sustained serious injuries in a car crash that happened Saturday evening in Indian River County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The accident claimed the lives of 76-year-old Gregorio Maugeri, 78-year-old Sebastiana Maugeri, both of Sebastian, and 18-year-old Geena Brown of Melbourne.
The incident took place at around 6:15 p.m. Saturday, January 27 on Interstate 95 within mile marker 143 south of State Road 60.
As per the article, Brown was driving a Ford Mustang north on I-95 when she veered across the grassy median and into the southbound lanes.
The Mustang was struck on its passenger side by a southbound Cadillac SRX.
Gregorio and Sebastiana, who were passengers in the Cadillac, died in the crash. Brown was also killed in the accident.
Meanwhile, 45-year-old Michelle Maugeri, of Barefoot Bay, who was driving the Cadillac, was transported to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center and Heart Institute in Fort Pierce. He sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, FHP investigators said.
An investigation into this accident is ongoing.
