Clermont Man German Ramos and Orange County Deputy Injured in Crash on U.S. 192
Orange County, Florida (February 10, 2018) – Two people, including an Orange County deputy were hospitalized following a head-on collision early Saturday morning in Orange County, according to a news release from Orange County Sheriff’s office.
The accident took place at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, U.S. 192.
According to the sheriff’s office, 35-year-old German Rosario Ramos, of Clermont, was operating a 2009 Honda van west on U.S. 192 near the intersection with Secret Lake Drive when he lost control of the vehicle and struck the deputy’s cruiser which was parked on the side of the highway head-on.
Airbags in both vehicles were deployed as a result of the collision, as per the report.
The report said the deputy was in the cruiser at the time of the crash.
Ramos and the deputy, James Moye, 59, both sustained minor injuries and were transported to Celebration Hospital for treatment.
The deputy had reportedly been released from the hospital.
An investigation to determine the cause of the crash is still underway.
