Alma Residents Killed in Washington County Two-Vehicle Wreck on State Road 79

Washington County, Florida (December 31, 2017) – Two people were killed while seven others sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday afternoon in Washington County, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at the intersection of State Road 79 and James Potter Road on Saturday, December 30.
A Chevrolet Impala that was stopped on James Potter Road at the intersection entered into the path of a Kia Sorento traveling southbound on SR 79. The Sorento crashed into the right side of the Chevrolet.
Two occupants of the Chevrolet, driver included, were killed in the crash. The two were identified as Flora Douglas, 63, and Alma Douglas, 51, both of Ebro.
Another occupant of the Chevrolet, a 77-year-old woman, was hospitalized with serious injuries. A 4-year-old fourth occupant was hospitalized with minor injuries.
Five people from Carrollton, Georgia, were riding in the Sorento. They suffered minor injuries in the crash.
