Dylan Rose Critically Injured in Port Charlotte Bicycle Accident
Charlotte County, Florida (November 16, 2017) – Troopers from the Florida Highway Patrol are investigating a crash that sent a 13-year-old bicycle rider to a hospital in critical condition on Wednesday evening in Port Charlotte.
Dylan Rose, 13, was injured in the crash that happened shortly before 6:30 p.m. on Dorchester Street near Kearney Avenue.
Troopers said Rose was riding a bike when he was struck from behind by a Chevy Cobalt driven by 80-year-old Joshua Salazar.
Charges are being pressed against Salazar, police said.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
We wish a quick recovery to Dylan Rose. It is disheartening when a reckless party subjects an innocent person to suffering.
