Driver Critically Injured in St. Petersburg Crash on 49th Street North; Driver Flees the Scene
St. Petersburg, Florida (November 15, 2017) – A hit-and-run driver is on the loose in St. Petersburg after crashing into another vehicle and seriously injuring the driver on Tuesday morning.
The crash happened at about 10:38 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, at 49th street North according to Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said a red Hyundai Accent, driven by a 62-year-old woman, was traveling southbound on 49th Street when it was struck by a gold Lexus as she attempted to make a left turn.
The driver of the Lexus fled the scene after the crash.
The woman driving the Hyundai was transported to Bayfront Hospital with major injuries.
Police are searching for the driver of the Lexus who fled the scene.
