Douglas Meenan, Bonnie Meenan and Two Children Injured in Cantonment Two-Vehicle Crash at Highway 297A and Kingsfield Road
Cantonment, Florida (May 15, 2018) – Three children and an adult were injured Sunday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision in Cantonment, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The collision happened on May 14 at the intersection of Highway 297A and Kingsfield Road.
Enrique Ramos, 26, was heading southbound on Highway 297A when he ran a red light at the intersection. His car crashed into a 2013 Chrysler operated by Jennifer Heath, 43, of Cantonment.
The Chrysler had six passengers inside. Douglas Meenan, 12, and Bonnie Meenan, 71, of Cantonment sustained serious injuries in the crash. A 3-year-old and 14-year-old sustained minor injuries. An 8-year-old was uninjured. Heath was also uninjured.
The Ensley and Cantonment stations of Escambia Fire Rescue responded to the crash, along with Escambia County EMS.
Ramos was charged with failing to stop at a stop sign.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
