Don Hayghe Killed In Two-Vehicle Accident on 34th Street S. in St. Petersburg
St. Petersburg, Florida (February 5, 2018) – A 51-year-old man was killed in a motorized scooter collision with a car on Sunday night in St. Petersburg, according to St. Petersburg Police Department.
The crash happened on 34th Street South near Queensborough Avenue on Sunday, February 4.
Police said Don Rowland Hayghe, 51, was driving a motor scooter on Queensborough Avenue when he slammed into a Ford F-150 that was making a left turn from 34th Street South.
Hayghe was not wearing a helmet and sustained major injuries.
He was rushed to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg, where he was pronounced dead.
The driver of the truck, Kendall Boykins, 36, and his passengers were not injured.
Police said intoxication might have been a factor in the crash.
