Sheriff’s Deputy Killed in Brevard County Crash with Patrol Vehicle on Interstate 95
Brevard County, Florida (February 17, 2018) – A Brevard County Sheriff’s deputy was killed on Saturday morning when a patrol vehicle collided with a semi-truck near Titusville, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash took place at around 5:10 a.m. on Interstate 95 just north of State Road 50.
Troopers said the deputy was driving a patrol car southbound on I-95 and attempting to overtake a semi-truck when one of the front tires of the truck blew out, causing its driver to lose control. The semi struck the deputy’s patrol car.
The deputy was killed in the crash.
The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
The Florida Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the crash.
