Lake Wales Man Davis Carver Killed in Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Lake Wales, Florida (November 10, 2017) – A crash involving a van and a motorcycle killed a Lake Whales man on Thursday morning, according to Pork County Sheriff’s office.
Davis Carver, 74, of Lake Wales was killed on Highway 60 at Hibiscus Drive on Thursday, November 9 at about 9:05 a.m.
Investigators said Carver was riding a motorcycle eastbound on Hwy 60 and was on a green light when a GMC van, driven by Norman Gilbert, 77 of Lake Whales, turned west onto Hwy 60 from Hibiscus Drive and was struck by Carver’s motorcycle.
Carver, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from his motorcycle. He was seriously injured and was transported to Lake Whales Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Polk County Sheriff’s deputies are conducting an investigation into the crash.
