59-Year-Old David Cooper Killed in Hillsborough County Two-Vehicle Crash on U.S. Highway 41
Hillsborough County, Florida (December 24, 2017) – The man killed in a car collision with a truck on U.S. 41 in Hillsborough County Thursday morning has been identified as David Richard Cooper, 59, of Old Town.
The crash occurred on U.S. 41 near John Sherman Way on Thursday, December 21.
According to troopers, Cooper was driving a 2016 Toyota Corolla north on U.S. 41 when he failed to reduce his speed and crashed into the back of a 2005 Ford truck, driven in front by Gerard Elias, 46, of West Palm Beach, and was attempting to turn right into a Sundance Growers nursery driveway.
Cooper was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
FHP is conducting an investigation.
