Interstate 10 Truck-Car Collision Kills 1
Escambia County, FL (September 18, 2017) – The victim of a two-vehicle collision on Interstate 10 early Friday morning died at the hospital where he was taken after the incident.
According to the report, the incident occurred around 1:45 a.m. September 15 on I-10 near the Texas-Louisiana state line.
The report showed that 24-year-old David Alvarez, of Groves, drove his 2017 Chevrolet pickup westbound on the road. For unknown reasons, Alvarez drifted onto the shoulder where he rear-ended a parked 18-wheeler truck.
First responders transported Alvarez to CHRISTUS Southeast Texas St. Elizabeth with serious injuries.
On Saturday afternoon, Department of Public Safety Sergeant Stephanie Davis announced that Alvarez had passed away due to the injuries sustained in the crash.
The other driver, 62-year-old Bobby Connell, of Florida, was uninjured.
