State Road 247 Two-Vehicle Collision Kills Man and Injures Daughter
Lake City, FL (September 29, 2017) – A man was killed and his toddler was injured in a collision with a log truck Friday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol crash report showed that the incident occurred around 7 a.m. on September 29 as both vehicles drove northbound on State Road 247.
The incident took place near Southwest Norris Avenue and included a log truck and a Ford Expedition driven by Daniel Clayton Fennell, 40. The SUV had rear-ended the log truck.
Paramedics extricated Fennell and airlifted him to UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, where he was later pronounced dead.
Fennell’s 2-year-old daughter was injured and was brought to Lake City Medical Center. The FHP reported that she was already picked up by her mother.
The driver of the log truck was not injured.
