Colleen Manning Victim in Fatal Sarasota Traffic Collision at I-75 near Mile Marker 199
Sarasota County, Florida (November 28, 2017) – The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a Southwest Florida woman was killed after multiple vehicles collided Thursday night in Sarasota County.
FHP identified the 38-year-old female driver as Colleen Manning, of Port Charlotte.
The deadly crash occurred at around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, November 23 along southbound I-75 near mile marker 199.
Troopers said that a 2005 Chevy Aveo driven by Manning was headed north along I-75. At the same time, 21-year-old Paige Graber, of Venice, was driving a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta behind Manning when he (Manning) began to slow for a Chevy Trailblazer that was in a previous accident. Graber failed to slow, and the front of her vehicle struck the rear of Manning’s Aveo.
Manning died while Graber and two passengers sustained minor wounds.
The authorities shut down southbound lanes between mile markers 195 and 199 for some hours.
